Illumination
This striking kitchen centres around the dramatic beauty of backlit Patagonia Granite - a true showstopper and the defining feature of the space. LED light sheets were installed behind the granite on both the splash back and the island , requiring precise detailing to ensure even light diffusion and a flawless finish.
The island features waterfall ends on three sides and a 500mm cantilevered overhang for a breakfast bar. Given the stone’s weight and the integration of the LED lighting, we engineered a custom support solution to safely accommodate both the overhang and the LED panels, achieving strength without compromising the clean design.
The surround cabinetry is crafted from VidaSpace Shinnoki Raven Oak, creating a dark, textural backdrop that allows the stone to remain the hero. The kitchen also includes five Hafle Hawa Concepta pocket doors, adding both functionality and a sense of concealment when not in use. A dedicated bar area sits behind doors framed in Archant woven mesh, offering a subtle layer of contrast and material sophistication.
This project is a celebration of material innovation, precision joinery, and a functional elegance, where bold natural elements meet thoughtful craftsmanship.
