The Point Renovation
Our clients embarked on a home renovation with a vision of blending minimalist design with the warmth of natural materials. Working closely with their designer, we brought to life a stunning galley kitchen that showcases the timeless beauty of native rimu veneer.
The design takes a unique approach by running the rimu veneer horizontally, creating an illusion of length that enhances the kitchen's spaciousness. Every detail was carefully considered to maintain a clean, minimalist aesthetic. The fridge, fully integrated, continues the seamless flow of rimu veneer, further emphasizing the kitchen's sleek lines.
To ensure both strength and longevity, we used a ply substrate beneath the veneer. This not only reinforces the cabinetry but also adds a distinctive touch to the end grain, setting this kitchen apart. Push-to-open cabinets eliminate the need for handles, preserving the uninterrupted elegance of the design.
The rich, warm tones of the rimu veneer are beautifully complemented by terracotta tiles and matching rimu architraves. The terrazzo bench tops add a touch of texture and luxury, completing a space that is both functional and visually stunning. This kitchen is a perfect example of how natural materials and thoughtful design can come together to create a space that is as enduring as it is beautiful.
